Canada 150 and the Eastern Townships Community Foundation
Thanks to the initiative of the Community Foundations of Canada, the Eastern Townships Community Foundation (ETCF) sponsored eleven projects in the context of the 150th anniversary of Canada.
Four ETCF fund holders presented projects in order to secure matching funding from Canada 150, which doubled their value.
- Atelier et classe de maître de compositeurs classiques canadiens presented by le Festival-concours de musique de Sherbrooke; total budget : $1 000.
- Salle multisensorielle presented by Autism’aide Estrie; total budget: $15 000. The Raymond-Massé Fund of the ETCF contributed to this project.
- Commémoration 100e anniversaire presented by le Regroupement des Archives du Séminaire de Sherbrooke et de l’Archidiocèse de Sherbrooke; total budget :$5 800.
- Concert Lisiesky à Orford Musique presented by Orford Musique; total budget : $10 000.
Seven other organizations, although not part of ETCF, also obtained matching funds for their activities thanks to the aid of Claude Forgues, vice-president of ETCF, who graciously served as an intermediary between them and Canada 150.
- Inauguration du Jardins des pionniers presented by la Municipalité de Hatley; total budget : $15 000.
- Un territoire commun presented by Les amis du patrimoine de St-Venant-de-Paquette; total budget : $14 000.
- Festivités 150e Bolton Est presented by la Municipalité de Bolton; total budget : $15 000.
- Danse interculturelle de Richmond presented by le Projet interculturel Peter Pan; total budget : $5 550.
- Multiculturalisme en fête Potton presented by la Municipalité de Potton; total budget : $8 000.
- Jardins des entrepreneurs presented by Jardins communautaires; total budget : $10 000.
- Azimut autour du monde presented by Maisons des jeunes; total budget : $10 340.
These eleven organizations obtained financing from Canada 150 for half of the cost associated with their activities,
for a grand total of $109 690.
